Tyee Kennel club presents Best Puppy In Show Saturday in the memory of

Thurley Duck

October 12, 1928 – September 26,1997

In 1980 Thurley started breeding under the kennel name Wilddeer Dalmatians.

Life Member of the Tyee Kennel Club.

Thurley was the Recording Secretary for club as long as she was a member. She was
the first to volunteer for anything the Tyee Club was doing.

Thurley was terrific as Show chairperson or Chief Ring Steward, whatever the club needed
her to do for that year.

For being a valued member of the Tyee Kennel club, this Trophy is given in Thurley’s name
to honor her.

Ann MacHemer

January 18, 1916 – August 30, 1997

In 1963 Ann started breeding under the kennel name Kurphalz – Weimaraners

First Silky Toy Terrier litter 1969 under Marengohill

First English Setter litter 1970 under Marengohill- Sunshine

First German Shepherd litter 1973 under Marengohill

Founding and Life Member of the Tyee Kennel club

Ann was the Show Secretary for this club since the first dog show in 1974. Her skills to organize paperwork and her knowledge of the Dog Show rules were a huge asset to the club in the early years. Ann volunteered many hours to the Tyee Dog show as well as the Monday Night handling classes.

As a core member of the Tyee Kennel Club we honor Ann with this trophy.

Tyee Kennel club presents Best In Show Sunday in the memory of

Arlene Fraser

April 12, 1934 – April 27, 2002

In 1965 Arlene started breeding under the kennel name Dannylad – Irish Setters and later Pomeranians.

Founding and Life Member of the Tyee Kennel Club

Arlene volunteered many hours to this club in various Executive positions as well as the regular Monday Night handling classes. When Arlene was President of Tyee she said “It is time this club put on a Point Show!” And in 1974 the Tyee Kennel Club put on the first CKC Conformation Dog Show, and thanks to Arlene, we have not looked back!

This trophy is given in Arlene’s name to honor her for the many years she dedicated to this dog club.

Tyee Kennel club presents High In Trial at the Performance
weekend in September (Trial #1) in the memory of

John Collis

May 3, 1933 – October 18, 1998

In 1965 John started “being owned by” and lasted breeding under the Samshel kennel name – Samoyeds and Shetland Sheepdog.

Life Member of the Tyee Kennel Club.

John was the club’s equipment manager for years. One of the truly thankless jobs, but he did it with a big smile. He was always the first at a Tyee Club Event, volunteering his time and manpower, and he was always the last to leave, of course after a coffee.

As a member of the Tyee Kennel Club, john was outstanding and this trophy is given in his name to honor him.

2005 Tyee dog Show was dedicated to Gertrude Placzek and Joan Haynes

 Gertrude Placzek

Under Gerbert kennel name - German Shepherds and Pomeranians

Was a founding member and the foundation for the Tyee Obedience Classes. With the help of Harriett Gonske, Gertrude started the Tyee Kennel Club down the road to holding Obedience classes and Obedience Trials at our Annual show. Anyone could come to Gertrude’s house, sit at her large kitchen table, and ask anything and about health and behavior of not only dogs but most animals, she would try and answer the question. Gertrude was also very generous with her time ad energy for the “new comers” to the dog game.

Joan Haynes

Under Dunrovin kennel name Joan bred West Highland White Terriers and Cairn Terriers.

Founding and Life member of the Tyee Kennel club

Joan was a core member during the struggling yeas of funding raising, she helped where ever she could. She held several different executive positions over her many years with the club. Joan never showed up to a club event without her hair and nails done to perfection, That was her trademark……

November 9, 1935 – October 6, 2003

Under the kennel name Swiftwind – Afghan Hounds and Standard Poodles

Life Member of the Tyee Kennel club

Doris contributed many volunteer hours to the success of Tyee Kennel club. She made sure to keep the club on the right track by pointing out the obvious that we had all missed. Doris was a huge contributor to the Tyee Famous Raffle baskets. “Never to be forgotten by those of us so fortunate to have known her”.
